The band traveled from Vienna to Budapest along the Danube River aboard a personal hydrofoil belonging to USSR President Mikhail Gorbachev.
The British Embassy held a special party in their honour.
The band are set to perform at the Nepstadion on the 27th of July.
Queen’s concert in Budapest is the biggest by a western group behind the Iron Curtain (An estimated 80,000 fans packed Budapest’s Népstadion (“people’s stadium” – during the Cold War).
This epic concert is still referred to as unforgettable, and one of the best in history. Listening to one of the world’s greatest singers of all time, Freddie Mercury, singing Tavaszi szél vízet áraszt, the most iconic Hungarian folk song, was a definite highlight and spine tingling.0
