Freddie decides to leave Munich for good

In October of 1985, Freddie decides to leave Munich for good đŸșđŸ„šđŸ‡©đŸ‡Ș Freddie’s love for Munich started in the Spring of 1979, after Queen’s shows and lasted many years. The band recorded five studio albums in Munich and Freddie recorded his very first single ‘Love Kills’ with Italian producer Giorgio Moroder. He also recorded his debut solo album ‘Mr. Bad Guy’, which as Peter Freestone said, it took two years because of all the wonderful distractions from Freddie’s friends buzzing up the studio to go out. He was also working with Queen. Freddie didn’t complain though, he loved his Munich life and friends. He also met his boyfriend, restaurant owner, Winnie Kirchberger there, they dated from 1983-1985.Freddie even threw his infamous 39th birthday bash at Old Mrs Henderson’s. The party of a lifetime where the champagne đŸŸ never stopped flowing. There was a 5 Foot tower of glasses stacked and a champagne fountain. Peter also remarked, “I don’t recall anyone being sober!” 😂Freddie really loved his freedom in Munich. He didn’t have that in London. He did whatever, whenever he wanted. He went out often but found time to relax with Producer Reinhold Mack and his lovely family. Freddie had a very close relationship with the Mack’s and even baptised their youngest son, John Frederick “Little Freddie,” yes, Freddie named him. He and John Deacon were his godparents. He enjoyed watching movies, drinking cocoa , playing table tennis and shopping. According to Mack, Freddie said, “This is actually how a real family is.”Munich was a real paradise for Freddie but not for eternity. His friends remember, he was there partying with them one day and gone the next, as it seemed. The fascination ended and for various reasons, he moved back to his beloved London with his new partner, Jim Hutton. Peter has mentioned that between tax exile and waiting for his Garden Lodge renovations, he made Munich home for several years. “One of the loves of Freddie’s life was his home, Garden Lodge, in London and he loved putting things in it, whether that was art or old-style furniture. He appreciated beauty.” Peter Freestone He was excited to began his next chapter in his new home as he moved into Garden Lodge in the summer of 1985. “I like Munich. I’ve spent a lot of time there. I was there so long, that after a while the people didn’t even consider I was around. They didn’t really pester me at all. I have a lot of friends over there and they know who I am, but they treat me as another human being, and they’ve accepted me that way. And to me that’s a very good way of relaxing. I don’t want to shut myself up and Hide! That’s not what I want. I’d go spare. I’d go mad
even quicker! I like to feel that I can do exactly the same things as other people do, like socialising and having parties.”Freddie Mercury ♄đŸŒč
