Freddie was a perfectionist.

“Freddie was a perfectionist. He would spend hours making sure that there was no better way of constructing a song, no better tune to express the feeling that he wanted to put over. His music was first and foremost for himself. It gave him the chance to express his feelings and be himself. Being a musician, he was in a position where other people could enjoy the results of his expression. Of course it mattered what the fans thought, but he wouldn’t let anything pass muster that he wasn’t a hundred percent satisfied with himself. Although he was well aware that there were many ways to say musically what was on his mind and that his end result might not be to the taste of others, it was his perfection he was seeking, not other people’s. And after all, it was his MUSIC!” 💛
